Maastricht University, located in the capital of Limburg province in the southeastern Netherlands, Maastricht city, is one of the youngest universities in the Netherlands. The university currently has over 13,000 students and more than 3,000 staff members. Maastricht is one of the oldest and safest cities in Europe, and its location is near major cities such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, London, and Berlin. The university has seven faculties, which are the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Psychology, and the Faculty of Law. Maastricht University is highly internationalized, with international students making up over 40% of the total student body. Most of its master's programs are taught in English. Maastricht University’s School of Business and Economics (SBE) is one of the best in the Netherlands and Europe. It has earned the three top global accreditations: AMBA (Association of MBAs), AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), making it one of the few universities in the world with all three. The university is also renowned for its research in artificial intelligence, as well as its departments in medicine, arts, music, and linguistics. Additionally, Maastricht University was one of the first universities in Europe to adopt problem-based learning (PBL) and small group teaching.
