    Texas A&M University, also known as Texas State A&M University or simply A&M, is located in College Station, Texas, and was founded in 1876. The university is renowned both in the United States and internationally and has consistently ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide according to various prestigious academic evaluation organizations. Texas A&M is famous for its cutting-edge scientific cloning technologies, including the first cloned cat and cloned dog, which were research achievements of the university. The surrounding area of College Station is well-connected by several interstate highways and is near two major airports. Texas A&M ranked 70th in the 2020 U.S. News rankings, and in the 2016 U.S. News edition, the university’s petroleum engineering and agricultural engineering programs ranked 2nd and 4th nationally, respectively. Other engineering fields, including nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and industrial engineering, also rank among the top 20 nationwide. The business school also has strong rankings, particularly in accounting and statistics. The university's official colors are maroon and cream. Sports are highly popular at Texas A&M, with the Aggies as the university's athletic teams. The Aggies traditionally compete against the University of Texas at Austin, and their men’s baseball team, women’s golf team, soccer team, and fitness teams consistently perform well, winning numerous awards. The table tennis team is also very popular. The social life at Texas A&M is diverse, with many student organizations hosting regular meetups and outings.
