University of Washington (UW) is a public research university located in Seattle, Washington, USA. Founded in 1861, the university comprises three campuses: the main campus in downtown Seattle, and two additional campuses in the northern suburb of Bothell and the southern suburb of Tacoma. The entire campus is built in the Gothic architectural style. The university is part of the highest division of the NCAA (Division I-A), with active sports teams including football and rowing. The football team achieved an undefeated record for 63 consecutive seasons from 1907 to 1917. The men's and women's rowing teams have earned approximately 24 Olympic medals. The university boasts 19 libraries, activity centers, audiovisual classrooms, and student dining facilities.
