Foothill & DeAnza Colleges are two sister colleges located in California, established in 1967 and 1957 respectively. The colleges are public institutions located in Silicon Valley, just 45 minutes from San Francisco and 20 minutes from San Jose. The campuses are also close to the Pacific Coast. Many globally renowned companies have their headquarters in this area, such as Apple, Yahoo!, and Facebook. The weather in California is sunny, with temperatures around 21°C, offering a very comfortable climate. Together, the two campuses have around 36,000 students, with about 10?ing international students. The colleges offer associate degrees for the first two years, and students can transfer directly to four-year universities in their third year. The schools have Transfer Admissions Agreements (TAA) with many California four-year universities, such as San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, College of Notre Dame, Mills College, Santa Clara University, University of California Davis, Riverside, Santa Cruz, University of the Pacific, and University of San Francisco. Foothill & DeAnza Colleges have one of the highest transfer rates to the University of California system. The colleges offer over 80 transfer programs and 30 vocational programs. Popular majors include Business Administration, Game Design and Animation, Computer Science, IT, and Life Sciences. Outside the classroom, the colleges offer over 90 student clubs, sports teams, and organizations. The campuses are equipped with various facilities, such as a dental clinic, medical center, cinema, sports field, and swimming pool for student use during their free time.
