Suffolk University, founded in 1906, is a private comprehensive university located on Beacon Hill in Boston, Massachusetts, and is the eighth-largest university in the Boston area. Its advantageous location provides students with numerous internship and employment opportunities, as Boston is home to many Fortune 500 companies, 1,420 financial firms, 1,877 law offices, 1,911 tech companies, and a variety of design and media companies.

Suffolk University currently enrolls over 8,000 students, with international students comprising the fifth-largest proportion in the U.S. According to the 2020 QS rankings, Suffolk University is ranked 161st in the nation. It offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs. Originally established as a law school, it has since evolved into a comprehensive university with notable programs in law, accounting, and an MBA.
