The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is located in Sydney, New South Wales, and is a comprehensive university focused on business, law, and technology. The university originated in 1833 as the Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts (SMSA) and was renamed Sydney Technical College in 1882 after approval from the New South Wales government, making it one of Australia's oldest technical education institutions. UTS is the only university located in the heart of Sydney.The main campus is situated in downtown Sydney, adjacent to Central Station and Chinatown, within walking distance to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The university also has another campus, Kuring-gai, located 15 kilometers north of Sydney in the beautiful Chase National Park.UTS has faculties including the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Business School, the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building, the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, the Faculty of Health, the Faculty of Science, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Transdisciplinary Innovation.
