CSU Sonoma State was founded in 1961 and is a public university within the California State University system. The campus is located in Rohnert Park, Sonoma County, California, with a student population of 9,200. In the 2017 U.S. News West Regional University Rankings, Sonoma State ranked 41st, within the top 10 public universities. The university comprises six colleges and offers 46 undergraduate programs and 15 graduate programs for international students.
