Glasgow
Founded in 1796
The University of Strathclyde, also known as Strathclyde University or Strathclyde, is located in Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. It was founded in 1796 and is the second university in Glasgow. Situated in Scotland's financial hub, Glasgow, the university benefits from a vibrant, friendly atmosphere, convenient transportation, and a relatively lower cost of living compared to other parts of the UK, making it a popular choice for students. Currently, it ranks as the third-largest university in Scotland, with students from over 100 countries.
Strathclyde University is one of the earliest UK institutions to offer a marketing program and is the only higher education institution in the UK to treat marketing as an independent discipline for academic research. The university’s engineering and business schools are world-renowned, with the Strathclyde Business School (SBS) being one of the largest business schools in Europe. SBS holds triple accreditation through the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), the Association of MBAs (AMBA), and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Department of Accounting and Finance is ranked first in the UK, and the Strathclyde Engineering School is also internationally recognized.
Popular fields of study include engineering, accounting, finance, management, marketing, international hospitality management, and law.
