    Gonzaga University, located in Spokane, Washington, is a private Catholic university founded in 1887 by Italian Jesuit priest Joseph Cataldo. The university is named after Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, a Jesuit saint. In 1912, the institution was elevated to university status. Today, Gonzaga enrolls about 7,300 students, with approximately 250 international students.

    The university is conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk to downtown Spokane, which is known for its excellent safety and outdoor recreational opportunities. In 2015, U.S. News & World Report ranked Gonzaga as the third-best university in the western United States. In the 2017 rankings, Gonzaga’s Master of Accountancy program was ranked 16th, its MBA program was ranked 78th, and its finance program was ranked 18th.

    Gonzaga offers a wide range of graduate degree programs, with 26 different disciplines including law, business, education, engineering, nursing, and human biology. The university is particularly renowned for its law, medical, and accounting programs. Gonzaga’s accounting students have one of the highest pass rates on the national CPA exam.
