School Introduction

New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) was founded in 1881 and is a public research university located in Newark, New Jersey, USA. The campus is situated in the New York metropolitan area, close to both downtown Newark and New York City, with easy access via subway to New York. The university has over 11,400 students, with approximately 21% international students. NJIT is ranked 97th in the 2020 US News rankings. The university offers 27 undergraduate degrees, 30 master's degrees, and 18 doctoral degrees, with particular recognition in engineering, engineering research, computer science research, architecture, and information science. The university has over 140 student clubs and also places a strong emphasis on career development, providing employment counseling, resume preparation, and connecting students with successful alumni. Additionally, the school offers various international learning opportunities, including extended co-op programs, providing more internship and service opportunities to help students gain valuable work experience before graduation.
