Concordia University is a comprehensive public university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is the second university in the city where English is the primary language of instruction. Montreal, founded in 1642, is the oldest city in Canada, the second-largest city in Canada, and the second-largest French-speaking city in the world.
Concordia University is adjacent to McGill University, another English-language university in Montreal, and both are located in the city center. Concordia has two campuses: the modern-style Sir George Williams Campus, located in the bustling downtown area, and the classical-style Loyola Campus, situated in the peaceful western residential part of the city. A free shuttle bus runs between the campuses, with a 20-minute travel time each way. Both campuses feature libraries that are open 24/7 throughout the year, except during holidays.
The university offers faculties in business, arts and science, engineering and computer science. The John Molson School of Business (JMSB) is the first business school in Canada to receive accreditation from the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), a prestigious global accreditation body. Only about 5% of the world’s 13,000 business schools hold this accreditation. JMSB is also known for producing the highest number of CEOs in the world’s top 500 companies.
All programs in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB) and the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in the United States, ensuring that graduates receive dual certification in both Canada and the U.S.
