    School Introduction

Simon Fraser University (SFU) is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and is named after the explorer Simon Fraser, who explored the Vancouver area. It is the only Canadian university participating in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).

The university has three campuses, each situated in different cities in the Greater Vancouver area. The main campus is located on Burnaby Mountain, with most of the university's departments located here. The Vancouver campus is in downtown Vancouver, consisting of four buildings: the SFU Ocean Centre, the Morris J. Work Exchange Centre, the Segal Graduate School of Business, and the SFU Contemporary Art Centre. The Surrey campus is in downtown Surrey, and the campus is an integral part of the city's center.

SFU has eight faculties: the Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, Beedie School of Business, Faculty of Environment, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Education. SFU has a long history of collaboration with other universities and scientific research institutions, including the Canadian Particle and Nuclear Physics National Laboratory and the Banfield Ocean Research Centre.
