    School Introduction

    The University of Montreal is a public university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The university primarily offers courses in French, although some courses are also available in English. It is the largest French-language university in the world and is a member of the U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities and the International Public Universities Forum.

    It ranks second in Canada for academic research achievements and has produced two prime ministers. As such, it is often referred to as the "Harvard of the French-speaking world" and "the cradle of French-speaking Canadian presidents." The university currently has partnerships with over 500 institutions in more than 60 countries, allowing students to participate in exchange programs once they have completed the required credits.

    The university is made up of 14 faculties and two well-known affiliated schools: Polytechnique Montreal and HEC Montreal. The 14 faculties include: Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Environmental Design, Department of Kinesiology, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Music, School of Optometry, Faculty of Nursing, School of Public Health, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Faculty of Continuing Education.

    Well-known programs at the university include history, film studies, comparative literature, computer science, Asian studies, chemistry, architecture, physics, museum studies, interactive media, medicine, and law.
